It's been one week since we celebrated Lily's second birthday with a whimsical carousel themed party. As aforementioned, the work preparing for said party was most definitely a labor of love (i.e. hours of mind numbing glue stick application to produce a giant 3' tall piñata, frustation with cake icing, and general party prep chaos-It's my life). However, we all knew that when the party was in full effect, our hours of hard Martha Stewart style labor would be completely worth it. Not to mention, I just enjoy this (I know this must sound hard to believe as I am constantly calling it a labor of love, but that is how the phrase goes).
Lily was a bit overwhelmed at all the company and could sense the excitement in the air (or was that just the echo of me running frantically through the house screaming "Where's my eyelash curler?" Who knows?) Either way, I hope that one day she will grow to appreciate the whimsy and delight that a beautifully dreamed up party can bring.
Here's a snap from the fantastic photographer we enlisted to help capture the sweet moments at Lily's party:
I wasn't exaggerating about the size of the piñata, it's actually taller than Lily! Correction, it WAS taller than Lily. It's since been blown to smithereens by all of Lily's sweet (until given a wooden stick) friends. As well as her father and uncle Greg. Oh, kids!
Stay tuned for the rest of the fantastic photographs!
You're in for a treat!
